Take the University Avenue exit - East. Stay on University Avenue until you reach the intersection with Oxford Street.
From Highway 24 Toward Berkeley (West):After coming through the Caldecott tunnel, take the Berkeley- Hwy 13 exit. Continue straight through the stoplight and down the hill. This road turns into Ashby Avenue. Continue on Ashby until you reach Shattuck Avenue (approximately 1 1/4 miles). Turn right and stay on Shattuck Avenue until you reach University Avenue (approximately 12 blocks). Turn right onto University Avenue. Stay on University Avenue until you reach the intersection with Oxford Street, one block.
Once you reach University and Oxford:Continue to go straight on University Avenue. You will be at the University's West Entrance. Turn left on University Drive. Drive beyond the kiosk to the roundabout called the West Circle. Do not stop at the kiosk, they do not know where our lab is located. Drive to the right and go three-quarters around the circle (where the blue star is on the map). Wait there for a researcher to meet you. S/He will have a bright green parking permit for your car and show you where to park.
Go up the stairs to exit the BART station. When you get outside, you will be on Shattuck Avenue. Cross Shattuck and walk uphill (east) on Center Street one block to Oxford. Make a left at Oxford and walk approximately 4 blocks until you come to Hearst Avenue. Make a right on Hearst and walk approximately two blocks up the hill until you come to a large, circular flower bed on your right, cross street is Arch. Tolman Hall is on your right. Tolman Hall consists of two five-story, beige, concrete buildings which are connected by corridors above the first floor. IHD is located in the West wing of Tolman, the wing on your right as you face Tolman. Enter the west wing through the glass doors and the Institute of Human Development is on your left.
