Welcome to the Cognitive Development lab at UC Berkeley! The aim of our research is to understand how children develop theories about how the world works. Our specific research interests include:

• What kinds of causal relationships kids can understand
• How existing abstract knowledge guides learning
• How specific experiences lead children to infer traits and category membership
